First Disneyland Disneysea

Ellie and Julia experienced their first time Disneyland and DisneySea. Mike and I haven't been to Disneyland ever since we went with Stan before Ellie was born, so parents were excited too. Unfortunately weather did not corporate well and we had a misty day all day while we were in Disneyland, but girls did not care about misty weather. They just had too much fun with Mickey Mouse and his friends.

エリとジュリアの初ディズニーデビューです。親の私たちもディズニーランドは本当に久しぶり。エリの生まれる前にStanと一緒に行ったアナハイムのディズニーランド以来、おまけに東京ディズニーランドは初だったので、結構楽しみでした。残念なことに、ディズニーランドの日はお天気霧雨。しかーし、霧雨なんてものともしないエリとジュリア。体中でめいっぱいミッキーとの一時を楽しんでいました。
Ellie was excited before we entered the park because the train we got on to the park had a circle window with Mickey ears!

エリは、ディズニーランドに入る前から大興奮！パークまでのモノレールの中のミッキー型の窓を見た瞬間から超ハッピーでした…。
Ellie was excited to be on Dumbo. I guess it was fortunate and unfortunate about the misty weather. Lines were not too long and we did not have to wait for a long time to get on the rides.

ダンボにものりました！あまりよろしくない天候のおかげもあり、長時間待つこともなくほとんどのライドにスムーズに乗ることができました。
This is Ellie and Julia watching the parade. They were so excited about the parades. Ellie danced with the dancers while parade was in front of her. She even wanted to follow after they left. Julia was a quiet parade watcher, but she was waving really really hard saying "bye-bye" to the parade after they left.

パレードは、子供達にとってかなりのヒットだったようです。エリはパレードが目の前に来ると、一緒にダンサー達と一緒に踊り、パレードが去ると追いかけると主張…。なんとかなだめた感じです。一方ジュリアは、パレードがいる間は真剣に静かに魅入っており、パレードが去ると激しく「バイバイ」と叫んでおりました。
We also watched Goofy and Mickey's dinner show. Of course Ellie didn't care much about dinner and she was jumping around the whole entire time while show was going. The only sad thing was that we didn't get to see the electrical parade because of the weather. They just had a rainy day version of the little parade. I guess we'll have to get there again for the electrical parade.

夜はミッキーとグーフィーのディナーショーを楽しみました。エリというと、お食事はそっちのけでショーに見入っており、ミッキーやグーフィーが出てくると、席を立って大興奮でした…。唯一残念だったことは、悪天候の為エレクトリカルパレードが見れなかったこと。雨バージョンの小さなパレードだけでした。また今度エレクトリカルパレードを観にリベンジにいかなくては！

Day 2 at DisneySea. It stopped raining and we had a good day. We were afraid since there was no school for kids in Tokyo, but not too crowded and we were able to enjoy the park.

翌日はディズニーシーへ。この日は雨も上がり、快適な陽気でした。「都民の日」で東京都の学校がお休みだったので混雑を懸念したのですが全く混む様子もなく、スムーズにライドにも乗ることができました。
Ellie and Julia loved Mermaid Lagoon. This was all for little kids and they loved it. Ellie got on every single ride. Julia was at Ariel's Playground the whole time.

エリとジュリアは、マーメイドラグーンがお気に入り。エリはラグーン内全てのライドを制覇しジュリアはひたすらアリエルのプレイグラウンド内で走り回りました。そのうちエリもプレイグラウンドにジョイン。2人で船の船長気分です♪
Ellie loved seeing Disney Characters. She was so excited every time we saw characters and gave kisses and hugs, held hands, followed them, etc. However, Julia had a little tough time finding out who they were. Well, she knew who they were, but she liked to see them from far distance. Once they get closer to her, she got scared (as you can see in the pictures below...)

エリはディズニーキャラクターに会えた事がなによりうれしかったようです。キャラクターを見つけるたびに大興奮。一緒に写真をとるのはもちろん、ハグやキス、おまけに手をつないだり、追いかけたりを繰り返していました。一方ジュリアはというと、遠くから見るのはとっても大好きなのですが、ある一定の距離以上に近づいてくると大泣き…。「こわくないよ～、大丈夫。」と伝えてもムダでした…。

Neighborhood Natsu Matsuri

Our neighborhood, Hatsudai, had Natsu Matsuri. It was a small Matsuri, but there certainly were a lot of people there. Bunch of Ellie and Julia's neighbor friends were at Matsuri and danced.

町内の毎年恒例夏祭り、初台阿波踊りです。小さなお祭りですが、商店街の通りはたくさんの人でいっぱいです。エリとジュリアのご近所のお友達もいっぱい阿波踊りに参加しており、みんなで応援です！
We met with Shu-kun, one of Ellie and Julia's favorite friends at Matsuri. They were all dressed up in Yukatas and danced with the Matsuri people.

初日のお祭りは、エリとジュリアだけだったのですが、2日目はお友達のしゅうくんと合流し、浴衣姿でお祭りを楽しみました。（ジュリアは甚平でしたが。）もちろん阿波踊りも、ちびっ子阿波踊りに飛び入り参加で踊っておりました。特にエリは超ノリノリです…。Julia, on the other hand, enjoyed Matsuri food more than dance. She ate whole corn but needed more, so she decided to ask her frineds for food...

一方ジュリアはと言うと、これまたいつも通り阿波踊りよりは屋台の食べ物に夢中。焼きもろこしやから揚げなど、お友達の食べていたものにたかっておりました…。（ちゃんとご飯食べさせてから連れて行っているのですが…あー、恥ずかしひ…）

でも、とっても楽しいお祭りでした♪また来年も楽しめるのかしら…。

Silly Sticker Face

Whenever Ellie or Julia gets immunization shot at Dr's office, they get a sticker. Today was Julia's DPT immunization shot. She wasn't happy about the shot and cried. But Ellie was happy since she could steal Julia's sticker off of her hand while she was crying... Anyway, Ellie decided to put all Hello Kitty sticker on her face, and some to Julia's face. Ellie was happy, but I'm not sure if Julia was...

本日ジュリアのDPT予防接種。注射の後、お医者さんにご褒美にシールをもらうのですが、今回ジュリアは注射のすぐ後泣いている間にエリにシールを取られてしまいました。（本人は取られた事実にさえ気づかず泣いていましたが…）エリはシールをゲットして、超ハッピー。顔中にシール張りまくりです。自分の顔だけでは飽き足らず、ジュリアの顔にまで…。迷惑そうなじゅじゅでした。

BBQ party with Ellie's Hoikuen Friends

Ellie's Hoikuen friends came over to our house for BBQ party. The weather was a little suspicious, but we enjoyed being up on our deck. A couple of hours later, it started raining and we all came back down, but kids had a lot of fun out on the deck.

エリの保育園お友達が、バーベキューパーティーに来てくれました。お天気の協力が得られず、結局1時間後にはあいにくの雨となってしまい、ご飯の後はお部屋で過ごすこととなりましたが、仲良しのお友達と違う環境で遊べることが、エリにとってはとても新鮮だったようで、大はしゃぎでした。
じゅじゅはというと、いつも通りひたすら食べまくっておりました…。

Ellie and China Dress

We got this China dress long time ago from someone (which we forgot... Sorry.) But when we got it, Ellie was too small and we stored it for a long time. I was going through the closet and found this dress the other day. I thought it may be perfect now. BUT... I guess it was a little too small for Ellie already. I just cannot believe how fast she is growing... Growing like a weed...
Although the dress was too small for her, she enjoyed wearing it. Later on the day, we dressed Julia in it for church.

エリが生まれてすぐ、ステキなチャイナドレスを友人からいただいたのですが、当時は大きすぎたのでクローゼットにしまって置き、少し成長してから着せようと思っておりました。最近になって、そろそろ似合うんじゃないかぁ、と思いエリに着せてみると、あらあら、短すぎ…。子供の成長の早さを痛感です…。
それでも超短いドレスをまとい、ハッピーでポーズをとるエリちゃんでした。その後、もちろんジュリアに来ていただいたことは言うまでもありませんよね。ぴったりでした。

Palette Natsu Matsuri

Summer fest at Palette Hoikuen (Ellie and Julia's school) It was supposed to be scheduled last month, but bunch of kids got mumps around that time and they delayed for a month. Unfortunately, weather did not corporate and we didn't get to see the kids carrying Mikoshi, but Ellie and Julia certainly had a lot of fun.

エリとジュリアの保育園の夏祭りに出かけました。本当は7月末に予定させていたのですが、そのころちょうどおたふくが流行ってしまい、結局1ヶ月遅れの開催となりました。当日あいにくの雨で結局お神輿かつぎをすることができなかったのですが、そんなの全く気にする様子もなく、エリとジュリアは存分に特設屋台で遊んでおりました。

エリとジュリアはヨーヨー釣りに励み、しっかり獲得です！

Ellie got 4 goldfish out of the fishing pool. (Actually she tried to get a fish, but she broke her net right away and could not catch any. 4 fish were actually given to her instead...)

エリは金魚すくいに挑戦。2回の挑戦にもかかわらず、網はあっさり壊れてしまい、結局4匹の金魚をいただきました。

Daddy Daughter Day - Odaiba Outing

Mommy got a employee/family sale ticket from her work and decided to go big clothing shpping at Odaiba. Unfortunately, kids were not allowed, so girls had a little outing with Daddy in Odaiba. (Sorry, but I got you guys bunch of clothes, so it is ok, right???) Daddy happened to ran into the camera shop and they were doing free rental promotion campaign for the new released camera, so Daddy rented one and took bunch of pictures.

お仕事の関係で、ファミリーセール招待券をいただきました。そこで、Mommyはお洋服のお買い物にお台場に繰り出すことに。ところがさすがファミリーセールだけあって人も多く、子供の入場はお断り、ということで、Mommyがお買い物にいそしんでいる間にDaddyは子供達とお台場散策です。（ゴメン、でもお洋服いっぱい買ってきてあげたよっ…）Daddyはカメラのキャンペーンを発見したようで、無料レンタルカメラをゲットし、写真とりまくりの一日でした。

Ellie broke her favorite headband a couple of days ago, so she got a new one and she is so happy playing around.

エリは、この前お気に入りのカチューシャを壊してしまったので、新しいのを買ってもらい上機嫌。（少々カチューシャはめる場所が下過ぎるのが気になりますが…）

Ellie and Julia played hard on the deck of the shopping mall. Daddy had too much fun with the camera that he rented for free. (He took over 100 pictures...) They all had a fun time!

エリとジュリアはショッピングモールのバルコニーで十分遊び、Daddyは無料レンタルのカメラでエンジョイしまくり（100枚以上の写真を撮ってました…）みんなご満悦でした。

After Mommy got back from her shopping, we all walked around and had a fun time. It was a nice family outing day.

Mommyがお買い物から戻ってきたら、今度は家族みんなで散策です。みんなで楽しい一日を過ごしました。最後のほうはちょっとお疲れ気味の子供達でした…。

Ellie, Juila and their Friend

We went to visit Ellie's friend, Kana-chan, who just moved from our neighborhood to a new location. Kana-chan's new place was so nice and cute. Ellie and Julia loved playing with Kana-chan.

エリのクラスメートのお友達がお引越しをしました。そこで、子供達と新居にお邪魔させていただくことにしました。やっぱり新居、とてもキレイでステキなお住まいでした。子供達が遊べるスペースも十分あり、エリとジュリアはとっても楽しいひと時を過ごしました。

We went to the nearby park. The park was owned by the city and had animals. It was a hot day but girls had a lot of fun at the park.

ご近所のすてきな公園がありました。区で管理されているみたいなんだけど、動物もいて子供が楽しく遊べ、ステキでした。徒歩3分のロケーションにこんなステキな公園なんて、ちょっとうらやましかったわぁ。

The Diva and her sister

Ellie got her new glasses and she loves them!　
We had one set of sunglasses that we bought when Ellie was little, and she has been using them. But since Julia's arrival, one set of glasses usually causes a big fight. So, when we went shopping this afternoon, we got a new set for Ellie. We took her in front of the glasses section and this is what she picked... (Mommy objected because it looked too ugly, but Ellie did not listen.)

エリが小さかったことにサングラスを買ってあげて、それを今までずっと使っていたのですが、ジュリアが適度に大きくなってからというもの、どっちがサングラスを持てるか、でいつも大ケンカ。そこで、買い物に出たついでにもうひとつ、購入することにしました。サングラスのセクションにエリを連れて行くと、エリちゃんの目はキラキラ♪そして選んだのが、コレです…。「超変だから他のにしようよ。」と進言したママを思いっきり無視。Daddyに買ってもらいました…。

She has to wear them everywhere no matter what she doing. She even took a nap with the glasses... Daddy calls her a Diva.

超お気に入りのサングラスとなっており、何をするにも放しませんでした。サングラスをかけて昼寝もしたエリです。
「あたし、スーパーモデルで忙しいのよ。ちょっと、プライベートは写さないでくれるっ。」って感じの顔…。

Pool Activity on the Deck

Another lazy Saturday morning. We setup the kiddy pool on the deck and girls had fun. At first Julia did not like the pool, but she got used to it and had fun with her sister. Once they start playing, they play hard and don't want to stop...

またまた、どこにも行かないのんびりな土曜日の午前中です。子供用プールを屋上に用意し、子供達は大はしゃぎ。ジュリアはというと、プールを出したばかりの時はとても嫌がっていたのですが、どうやらこの夏のイベントづくしでまったくもって水に慣れた様子。自分から飛び込んでキャッキャとはしゃいでます。一度屋上にあがると、はしゃぎまくってなかなか降りてこない２人です。

Ellie's First Official Haircut

As most of you know, Ellie came out bald and did not have hair for a long time. She had turned 2 and half and finally started getting decent amount of hair. But, her baby hair was still there and was causing her hair to tangle. So, we decided to have her first official haircut today.

皆さんご存知のとおり、エリは生まれたときからハゲで、長い間、髪の毛がありませんでした。２年半の間、ひたすらのばし続け、エリの髪の毛もようやく一人前の長さになってきたところです。ところが問題発生。今までに一度も切ったことがなかったので、毛先の細いベビーヘアが絡まるようになってしまったのです。そこで仕方なく、髪の毛を切ることにしました。生まれて初めてのイベントです！

Mommy's old friend is a hair stylist and Ellie went to her place with Mommy for her hair cut. She did an excellent job and Ellie's hair is now quite short and no tangle. No ouch washing hair!! Ellie was excited to be in a hair salon chair all by herself.

ママの幼ななじみのお友達が国立で美容師さんをしているので、エリもそこで髪の毛を切ってもらうことにしました。とっても上手に切ってもらい、短くてかわいい髪形になりました。（最初は小僧みたいなマシュルームカットでした…）もう絡まらないし、おフロで髪の毛を洗うときも全然痛くない！ハッピーなエリです。（本人は美容院のイスに一人で座っていることが一番楽しかったようですが…。）

Julia of course wanted to be part of this hair cut event, but unfortunate to say, she has no hair. She just sat on the salon chair and cheered for Ellie.

ジュリアもこのヘアカットイベントに参加したかったようですが、残念ながらジュリアには切る髪の毛がありません…。仕方がないので、美容院の隣のイスに腰掛けて、エリの応援です。

Ellie's Play Day

We had little sicky going around in our family this week. First Ellie got sick, then Daddy and towards the end of the week, Julia got one.

最近、どうやら夏風邪が流行っているようで、うちにもやってきました。最初はエリ。（それも、あいにくにもエリのお友達が遊びに来てくれていたその日に始まってしまった…。なんて最悪なタイミング…。）その後、Daddyがかかり、そして最後にジュリアでした。

Today was Saturday and JuJu was sick at home. Ellie was so board being at the house, so Daddy took her out to Nishi Shunjuku Kodomo Kan. Ellie had a fun time there with Daddy running around, playing with the toys, etc.

今日は土曜日、だけどジュリアがお熱で寝込んでいるので外には出れず、家の中でと～ってもつまらなさそうにしているエリに見かねて、Daddyが西新宿こども館に連れて行ってくれました。エリは、外に出られることがまずうれしくて、こども館についてからもおもちゃで遊んだり走り回ったり大忙しだったようです。

On the way back, Ellie stopped at the park to play with the slide.

帰り道はお決まりの公園の遊具遊び。滑り台やブランコで十分に遊んだエリでした。帰ってきたら泥んこになってましたが…。

I knew people had been talking about Ellie and her friend, Shu-kun, on Hoikuen website. So I checked it out and here it is. They were on the cover page!

最近保育園のホームページの話が妙にあがってきていたので、チェックしてみたら、なんと、トップページにいるじゃないですか、エリが。クラスメートの男の子と共に！！

Wow... I guess I need to check the site more often...

かなりびっくり。けっこうみんなチェックしてるのね…。私も定期的にチェックしなくちゃ。

Julia finally being a model?!

Finally a catalog with Julia in it! This is the first and the only model job that Julia has gotten. (She has not been picked at the auditions while Ellie gets ton of jobs...) I figured this might be the only time for Julia and I HAD TO put in the link!

とうとうジュリアが仕事をした唯一のモデルカタログが、本日届きました！最近オーディションにことごとく落ちているジュリア…。やっぱポートフォリオの写真が良くないんだろうか…、と色々考えてしまうのですが、しょーがない。これが最初で唯一の仕事写真なので、ブログに掲載してしまうことにしました。

Sisterly Love

I feel like Ellie and Julia are fighting over toys all the time, but I should admit that they do play together, share toys, and show love to each other. It sure does not happen too often. So, this is one of the rare case that we happened to have a picture of their sisterly love.

いつもいつもおもちゃの取り合いでケンカばっかりしているように見えるエリとジュリアですが、時折姉妹愛を感じさせるような表情を見せてくれることもあります。（ホントたまーにですが…。）そんなまれなケースを写真に収めることができたのって結構奇跡かも、とか思っちゃったりしてます。
